However, our councils have to opt in to this new legislation and so far some 117 councils have taken the step.
Local areas now opted in are -

Brighton & Hove City
Eastbourne Borough
Hastings Borough
Horsham District
Lewes District
Mid Sussex District
Worthing Borough
